LAKE CITY, SC –Lake City High School outfielder Jordan Hanna signed a National Letter of Intent Tuesday, May 21, to play baseball at USC-Salkehatchie.
Hanna, the son of Vince Hanna and Tabetha Rogers, is a three-year letterman for the Panthers. In his senior season, he batted .413 with 31 stolen bases and 29 runs scored. He was named to the Region 7-2A All-Region Team and was the team’s Co-MVP.
“After a game this year, an opposing fan told Jordan he needs his own zip code because he covers every inch of the outfield,” said Lake City head coach Matt Apicella. “He is one of, if not the, best defensive outfielder we have had in my time here. Jordan has steadily improved at the plate and is a nightmare on the bases,” Apicella added. “We look for him to flourish at USC-Salkahatchie under Coach Dorman.”
USC-Salkehatchie is located in Allendale and competes in Division I of the National Junior College Athletic Association.
Hanna said he chose USC-Salkehatchie because he liked the small school atmosphere. “It’s in a small town and I like that,” Hanna said. “Salkehatchie has a very good baseball program, and I really like the coaches. I’m looking forward to being a part of the college community and baseball program.”
Hanna is the 20th Lake City High School baseball player since 2001 to sign to play college baseball.
